ABOUT US

Praxis refers to the integration of scientific knowledge and clinical practice. Our lab examines how psychological theories and research can be translated into interventions and applications that improve mental health and well-being.

Our mission is to address contemporary mental health challenges by advancing both traditional and innovative approaches to clinical psychology. We develop and evaluate interventions that respond to evolving social, cultural, technological, and healthcare contexts.

Our research focuses on several interconnected areas of clinical psychology, including grief and bereavement across the lifespan and diverse cultural contexts; disaster mental health, resilience, trauma, and psychological recovery following natural disasters and humanitarian crises; social justice in clinical psychology, including equity, access to mental health care, cultural humility, and the impact of systemic and structural factors on psychological well-being; traditional and innovative psychotherapies, with an emphasis on translating clinical science into effective, evidence-based practice; and digital mental health and the ethical integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, into psychological intervention, training, and research.

We use mixed methods approaches, both qualitative and quantitative, to gain a holistic perspective on complex human experience.
